Day 1 | Mexico MTC, Here I Come!

Elder Shoaee with Elder Ballard and Elder Harris, traveled from Salt Lake City, to Phoenix, to Mexico City. They arrived at the Benito Juárez International Airport at 3:24 PM today.

At the beginning of their service, LDS missionaries usually spend 3–12 weeks at an MTC where they receive training in doctrine, conduct, proselytizing methods, and, when required, a foreign language as in Jordan's case.

Currently, there are 83,035 missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who serve in 405 missions. There are a total of 15 MTCs in nations throughout the world, in locations in addition to Provo, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, South Africa, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Called To Serve | May 20, 2014

Jordan has been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has been assigned to labor in the Honduras San Pedro Sula West Mission. It is anticipated that he will serve for a period of 24 months.

He will be reporting to the Mexico Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in which he will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language.

He will be devoting his time and attention to serving the Lord, Jesus Christ, leaving behind all other personal affairs. Jordan's purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
