Elder Jordan A. Shoaee of Pleasant Grove, Utah, is called to serve as a full-time missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to proclaim the gospel of our Lord and Savior and to help build His kingdom in Honduras.
This week was awesome! There were transfers and my old companion left, but two other missionaries came. One is Elder Comin from Alberta, Canada and the other is Elder Soto from El Salvador. They are super awesome! It is interesting to teach with three people, but there is power in numbers and we can help give insights on different things.
I have been showing them the area. It's a little difficult for me because I only have been here for one change, but I know that the spirit helps me remember who's who and where everything is. I also was promoted to Senior Companion, but Elder Soto is our District Leader. This last week I was showing an area and we found this one guy who lived in the states for 12 years so we were able to teach him in English. He was so interested, I felt so good.
This week was pretty awesome. We worked on finding some people that were referrals and we went to a lady's house. She was super interested and we taught her about baptisms for the dead and also the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After we made a cheese grater out of a tin can by hammering holes into it with a nail. Also we went to San Pedro Sula. There is a cool store called Uncle Sams, they sell American stuff. It was awesome to go there and get some things. Also this week is changes. I am not sure if my companion will leave, but we'll see what happens. Elder Shoaee
This week was awesome! On Tuesday we had a zone meeting, then
later in the week I went on divisions with one of the zone leaders, Elder Baird. He and I were in Puerto Cortes while my companion was in our area. We basically
contacted most of the day, it was pretty cool.
The next day my companion and all
the other leaders had to go to San Pedro for a meeting so I stayed in Puerto Cortes for most of that day, then we had some lessons in the afternoon. On Saturday we
went to work as usual, but a lot of our appointments fell through and we didn't get to talk
to this awesome family that we had planned. Today as a zone we watched Meet the Mormons, it was pretty cool. It was a lot different than I thought it would be.
Elder Shoaee
There are times when you
might feel aimless
You can't see the places where you belong But you will find that there is a purpose It's been there within you all along and when you're near it You can almost hear it. It's like a symphony just keep listening
And pretty soon you'll start to figure out your part Everyone plays a piece and there are melodies In each one of us, oh, it's glorious
And you will know how to let it ring out as you
discover who you are Others around you will start to wake up To the sounds that are in their hearts It's so amazing, what we're all creating It's like a symphony just keep listening And pretty soon you'll start to figure out your part Everyone plays a piece and there are melodies In each one of us, oh, it's glorious
And as you feel the notes build you will see
It's like a symphony just keep listening And pretty soon you'll start to figure out your
part Everyone plays a piece and there are melodies In each one of us, oh, it's glorious!
Week #46 | Monday, June 08, 2015
This
week was great, Elder Tomas and I contacted a bunch this week because a lot of
our appointments fell through. We are working on finding more people that are going to
progress, but we will see how it goes this week. We had some nice lessons and
some investigators came to church. Our ward is awesome, they give us so many
referrals and go out with us too. We have a ton of support from them.
This week went by super fast. We had a multi-zone meeting and I
got to see some of the missionaries that I lived with in my previous areas, it
was awesome and I learned a lot.
I got a small fever on Friday and took medicine and prayed that I would feel better and the next day I didn't have a fever! I wasn't 100% better, but
progressing. I wear bug repellent
and use hand sanitizer, but I am just on the front line here. People don't understand
about sanitation here. We are cautious and smart with what we eat, but it just
happens...
In the mountains in my new area
On Sunday we had Stake Conference and a Seventy, Elder Maravilla, came. He
is awesome. He taught about the day of the Sabbath and how we can sanctify it
and what we should do. Also, he talked about the plan that Central America has
for the year. He also focused on how to make Sacrament Meeting way better and how its supposed to be. That's about it for this week.
